Add A Refer-A-Friend Script To Your Blog To Increase Your Traffic
People of the world…
Stick With Me Here -
There’s A Contest At The End!
You Might Win!
OK, you all know I’ve been working on that Five Days To Freedom affiliate marketing thing and it involves different ways to increase my traffic and just in general start paying more attention to my long term earning potential so I don’t have to spend the rest of my life writing articles for people.
And today while I was researching an ebook for somebody I found the coolest script – and I can even install it so you know it’s easy to use! It’s called a Tell-A-Friend script and I’m sure you’ve seen them. In fact, there’s a basic one on just about every blog I’ve seen. Those little buttons down at the bottom of every blog post that you click on and bookmark a page or email it to somebody.
But here’s the deal – This script that I found let’s YOU submit up to 15 names and email addresses and then it automatically sends them each an email that includes a link back to whatever page I want to send them to. And if they click through they’re required to opt-in – which takes care of the legalities AND adds them to my list! Not only that, there’s tracking on it and statistics and all that stuff that the adults are always interested in.
So anyway, I’m going to have a contest for ya’ll. At the bottom of every post I’ve placed a little envelope icon so you can click from any post you like and send that link to a friend. When you click on the envelope the Tell-A-Friend form will pop up so you can give me names and email addresses.
For every person who gives me 15 names and email addresses I will add another Tell-A-Friend Script onto my subscription and pay for YOUR OWN form for any website you want for 3 months. And the first person to send me 25 names I’ll pay for your own script subscription for the first month. And since you get two weeks free that means you’ll have a month and a half on me!
Think of the list building potential here people! You can put this form on your blog or website, too, and build YOUR list. Let me show you some statistics about conversions:
The average conversion rate from search engine traffic is 1-2%. Which means if you have 8,000 visitors to your site, you’ll get 80 orders. If you use Pay Per Click advertising and pay even just 20 cents per click those 8,000 visitors are going to cost you $1600.00. If you break that down that means that it COST YOU $24 to make each of those 80 sales.
Now, if you use some type of Tell-A-Friend script you are attracting much more targeted traffic because they were all referred by trusted friends and associates who know what your website is all about. And the conversion rate on this type of traffic averages around 15%. Which means from those same 8000 people you’ll now get 1200 orders instead of only 80. And when you break down the ANNUAL cost of the script it only cost you less than 7 cents per order.
Just in case any of you are interested I’m using a script from Tell-A-Friend-King. You already know it’s easy to use if I can do it.
OK – so click on the envelope in any post that you’d like to send to your friends or associates. Give me 15 names – or give me 25 – and you get your own form on me!
BTW – This is my own envelope icon and you can use your own custom image on these or you can go with the buttons that they provide. You can also put this form on a post or page or send it out in an email to your list, although Tell-A-Friend-King recommends that you do it just the way I’m doing it. I figure they must know what they’re talking about so I’m following their suggestions.
Attention – Just so you guys know, when you put names and emails on that list it automatically sends an opt-in email to the recipient so no one joins the list unless they want to.. AND – the email will have your name on it so they know that you sent them and they’re not just getting spammed. There will be a link included in the email that leads them back to whatever post you were reading when you clicked on the envelope icon.
This public service announcement has been brought to you by Five Days To Freedom and Beamer Anderson! Cheers!

I don’t know why, but I love the way you write! Things like: “Not only that, there’s tracking on it and statistics and all that stuff that the adults are always interested in.” Crack me up!
I see people write ’serious’ articles with weak call to actions and then wonder why no one clicks their link. I always read every blog post you write to the end. It feels like reading a letter from a long lost friend.
Thanks again for a wonderful (and inforative) post and I hope that lots of people refer this blog because it is one of the most fun and still useful blogs I have ever run into! And that says a lot, as I have read a lot of blogs!
Thank you,
Mark AKA DogScout
Mark! Will you quit changing addresses? I always have to go in and approve your comments! LOL And I absolutely refuse to act my age!
Put some emails on that list and give this so I can give this thing a test run over at Discerning Images.
