I’m sure you heard it because it was all over the news yesterday – Blogger Andrew Breitbart, of BigGovernment.com posted irrefutable proof that Shirley Sherrod, USDA Georgia Director of Rural Development, admitted she based a decision on whether or not to help a white farmer, who was about to lose his farm, on the color of his skin. In his post titled “Video Proof: The NAACP Awards Racism – 2010″, Breitbart posts a video of Sherrod addressing the NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner in Georgia. In that video she admits that, at the beginning of her career, she did indeed do less than she could have to help that white farmer.
The only problem is – Breitbart only showed part of the video. He doesn’t show the part where Sherrod explains that working with that farmer helped her to realize that she was there to help ALL poor peope – not just poor black people. He also doesn’t include the pleas from the farmer and his family, asking that the world also be told that, without the help of Sherrod, they would have lost their family farm.
Here’s the COMPLETE video if you’d like to see what REALLY happened.

Everything is packed and I just need to load the car. It’s 4:13 AM and I’ve got my first RedBull of the day, a full pack of smokes and I’m getting ready to unplug the computer.
I’m going to miss this place. Outside my door I have palm trees and an angry squirrel and lots and lots of sunshine. I think I’m leaving at a good time though. Thanks to BP, Florida is headed for some even tougher times than they’ve been having. First the housing industry now the oil.
Anyway, yesterday I received an email from Spencer. You remember Spencer, don’t you? I told you about him in my post Spencer’s Niche Adsense Challenge. Spencer had a little problem with de-indexing but he’s recently sent me two emails that I thought you might be interested in. In May Update on My Niche Sites Spencer spills the beans on how much his sites made in May and, in my humble opinion, I think he did quite well even though he’s not too pleased with the results. And in In Search of Black Swans he has an interesting outlook on Internet Marketing to share with you. Read the rest of this entry

I can always tell now when the Warrior Forum is down because my stats jump all over the place. Out of the top 22 keyword phrases that people are using to find this blog, 15 of them have the words Warrior Forum in there somewhere. It’s ironic isn’t it? There are 87 published posts on this blog – on a plethora of topics, I might add – and the single, most read post is still Warrior Forum Down…Hacked…Sucks…Banned…Reasons Why…WTF!
I’ve also already received 2 emails from Warriors who are panicking because their WSOs aren’t selling. So they’re resulting to actually WORKING to market their products and they’re sending out emails to tell me about the fabulous offer they have. One of them is even going so far as to tell me that the reason his price is so low is because it’s for Warriors Only and that’s what Warriors do for each other – they give their products away almost for FREE.
Ah, well….if you read the above mentioned post you’ll know my feelings on Warriors, WSOs and the Warrior Forum in general – so no sense beating a dead horse. On to Ezine…

OK, OK, I’m here. It’s been awhile…but I’m here. And I’ve learned a few lessons this week. I’ll get to that in a minute…
Generally, when I post to the dome, it’s about some marketing method I’m playing around with – article marketing or blogging or flipping sites, etc. But this post is a little different. After what I’ve just been through I think I’ve found a few questions that we all need to be asking ourselves about our marketing strategy in general.
I’ve had a pretty serious health problem rear it’s ugly head since I’ve been here in Kentucky and it’s kept me offline for over a week. Don’t worry – it’s fixable. And thank goodness it happened here instead of Florida. The docs here are actually better than the docs in Florida believe it or not, so I’m getting the medical attention I need.

Why oh why do I keep doing this to myself?! I wonder if there’s some kind of word for people like me who keep tripping over all this neat stuff they want to try even though they know it’s going to take time and there are only so many hours in a day? The word Masochist comes to mind…or ADD…or just IDIOT probably works, too.
I love minisites. It probably sounds weird to those of you who only know Wordpress but I love working in HTML – I find it very relaxing. It’s also challenging and in the end it’s kind of neat to sit back and look at a page that you created out of coding instead of just uploading a zip file.
But I’m not getting anywhere near the topic at hand today so let’s move it along.

I’ve told you guys right from the start that I’m a caffeine freak. I think most writers are. Heck, I think most Internet Marketers are. I don’t know about you but I’m up and at my computer at all hours of the day and night. I’ts 1:44 AM right now! No, I haven’t been sitting here all day. I took a break for a few hours this afternoon and did some house work and took a little nap. But that leads me to today’s topic – Doubleshots or RedBull – What’s your poison?
I remember when RedBull came out. I was a bartender then and one of the other bartenders used to live on RedBull and vodka. At the time, I preferred MY vodka straight up but that’s a whole ‘nother story. I never really liked the taste of RedBull because it’s so sweet. But I did get hooked on Doubleshots – probably because I’m such a big coffee fan.
So here’s the thing. The 7-11 has been going back and forth on RedBull and Doubleshots. One week RedBull is on sale and the next week it’s Doubleshots. So I tried the RedBull a few weeks ago and now I can’t decide which one I like better so I just buy 2 of each everyday that way I’m not playing favorites.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery
Of course, I’ve just always attributed that quote to my mother. That and “Your face is going to freeze like that!” and “Quit swallowing your gum! It stays in your stomach for 7 years!” and “Because I said so, that’s why!” And I can’t even remember the first time she said it to me, but, I guess, it doesn’t really matter WHEN she said it, or how many times I’ve heard it, the fact remains….
It still pisses me off!
Look, I understand doing research on the web when you’re trying to write an article or a blog post or something. It just makes sense. When you’re writing an article that requires facts and specific information, you want to make sure you get those facts straight. I mean, how much credibility would I have if I wrote an article about Christmas and told you it came around every year on December 29th?

It was like the shot heard round the web yesterday – “The Warrior Forum is down! The Warrior Forum is down!” Ppffffftttt! By the time I heard about it, it was 8:30 PM so I went to check it out. It was running very slow, but I managed to get into one thread. I can’t get back into it right now or I’d copy and paste it exactly but the one thread I managed to get into went something like this:
Warrior 1: Having trouble getting onto the forum today? Is anyone else experiencing trouble?
Warrior 2: Me, too. Probably the most productive day I’ve ever had.

I’ve had a couple of “Signs From Above” over the last few weeks with regard to developing a marketing strategy and they’ve had an enormous effect on my business – even in just this short amount of time. So I thought I’d share my thoughts here today and you can do with it as you please.
First of all, as most of you know, I’m a firm believer in “Signs From Above” as I stated in this earlier post. Now please don’t come at me to tell me all your thoughts on God or you’ll force me to break out some of the candles and chants I have reserved for special occasions. Suffice to say I believe there’s “something” out there and you and I will probably NOT agree on what that something is.
But this isn’t a philosophical discussion. We’re discussing whether or not you’re developing a marketing strategy. So let’s get on with it!

It’s Webby Award time again.
Have you cast your votes?
If you’re like me you’re probably very sad and disheartened right now because you just finished watching the final episode of Ugly Betty. I know, I know – what does Ugly Betty have to do with the Webby Awards?
Well it just so happens that Betty Suarez was a blogger and in a recent episode her blog won a BLOBBY (BLOB stands for Black and Latina Organization of Bloggers.) Betty was passionate about her blog – a personal blog by the way – and she was so excited to win this tremendous award. Of course they did a whole show around it and it was kind of cool to watch because I’m a blogger…and you’re a blogger…and you just don’t always get to feel a connection like that with a character in a television show.
