I’ve had a couple of “Signs From Above” over the last few weeks with regard to developing a marketing strategy and they’ve had an enormous effect on my business – even in just this short amount of time. So I thought I’d share my thoughts here today and you can do with it as you please.
First of all, as most of you know, I’m a firm believer in “Signs From Above” as I stated in this earlier post. Now please don’t come at me to tell me all your thoughts on God or you’ll force me to break out some of the candles and chants I have reserved for special occasions. Suffice to say I believe there’s “something” out there and you and I will probably NOT agree on what that something is.
But this isn’t a philosophical discussion. We’re discussing whether or not you’re developing a marketing strategy. So let’s get on with it!

It’s Webby Award time again.
Have you cast your votes?
If you’re like me you’re probably very sad and disheartened right now because you just finished watching the final episode of Ugly Betty. I know, I know – what does Ugly Betty have to do with the Webby Awards?
Well it just so happens that Betty Suarez was a blogger and in a recent episode her blog won a BLOBBY (BLOB stands for Black and Latina Organization of Bloggers.) Betty was passionate about her blog – a personal blog by the way – and she was so excited to win this tremendous award. Of course they did a whole show around it and it was kind of cool to watch because I’m a blogger…and you’re a blogger…and you just don’t always get to feel a connection like that with a character in a television show.

We all pretty much agree that article marketing is perhaps one of the most effective internet marketing strategies you can use. Of course, that also depends on the directories you choose to submit your articles to. And you’ve all heard me talking a little bit about Ezine lately. Now that I’m using Ezine and Squidoo almost exclusively to promote this site I can’t tell you what it’s done for the traffic – and the sales.
Most of you saw the traffic figures that were listed at Flippa for this blog last week. There are over 200 unique visitors per day now, and on the days that I post that figure passes well into the three hundred range. No stampede by any means but when you consider I only really started promoting this blog about a month ago, and I’m only really using Ezine and Squidoo to do it – those are some pretty fair numbers to say the least. And 6 weeks ago those numbers were only half, at most, of what they are today.

Awwwwwww…you guys are sweet. Thanks for all the emails and I’ll try to answer everybody individually over the next couple of days. But I’m going to put some answers here, too, just in case I miss somebody.
Yes, I’m seriously trying to sell the ‘Dome. I don’t know if it’s going to happen this time around or not. I’ve sold a few sites at Flippa but not enough to make any kind of a name for myself and attract any attention when I do list something, so we’ll see. If not this time around, I have a few people off of Flippa who’ve expressed an interest – so one of these days – yes, the ‘Dome will change hands.
It’s going to take a special person though because this blog is basically about Internet Marketing techniques but the domain name is about writing. So it might take awhile.

Something’s been bothering me lately so I finally had to stop what I’m working on and do something about it. You guys know that when I have something to say I just say it. But my big problem, my entire life, has been that I sometimes don’t consider the consequences. Now, in all honesty I have been working on that. And I think if you were to speak to people who actually know me they’d tell you that I’ve probably gone too far in the other direction. Almost to the point where I barely speak at all – unless I really, really know you. And I’m probably one of the most compassionate people you’ll ever meet which is difficult to prove on a blog so I’m not even going to bother going there.
But let me stop rambling and get to the point…
Back on Sunday, February 28, I posted this article – Is That A Niche Blog In Your Pocket Or Are You Just Happy To See Me? I’m not going to rehash the whole post because you can click on that link and read it yourself but the topic was a discussion of content vs. SEO.

Well, it’s a new day…and I don’t know about the weather where you are, but it’s bright and sunny and warm here and I’m working on the patio today. But ya know what? It doesn’t really matter what the weather’s like outside because….well, it’s a new day! Anything could happen! The possibilities are endless!
I told you all in the email I sent on Monday (In case you didn’t open it!) that I was going to either make some changes around this place or put it up for sale. And I just can’t do it. There’s no way I can sell the dome. I even had the listing started on Flippa and I couldn’t go through with it. This is the place I come to when I need a break. This is my haven, my home. I don’t care if anyone ever reads it, when you have a place you feel comfortable coming home to, you can’t let it go. I’ve been moving around all my life, from one town to another and I like where I’m living now…both in the real world and in cyberspace. So instead of moving out, I’m just gonna clean this place up. I started with the kitchen yesterday and today…
It’s time to makeover the ‘Dome!

It was only a matter of time, folks. If you read my last post about Publishing Your Blogs on Kindle then you’ll appreciate THIS POST I found this morning – less the 48 hours later! As reported in The Inquisitr – Amazon is releasing a Kindle App for the iPad which means that whether they have a Kindle or an iPad, readers will be able to get your blog on either device – But only if you publish it!
AND – Here’s another post I found this morning – The Kindle Blog Report. And who’s that little Pink Haired Girl in that picture? It’s Beamer! Blogger Ms. Cairo gave 97 Dollar Ebooks – The WSO Battledome a big thumbs up in her review this morning and I thank her very much. The publicity is very nice but more important it gave me a chance to link to her blog again and show you guys what she’s doing and how stuff like that can effect your blogs.
If you look at the content on her blog Ms. Cairo is not a flash in the pan blogger. She has close to 200 posts on that blog just for March and the content that she’s added to this blog just since I tripped over her a few days ago has nearly doubled. With the name Kindle in her blog title and domain name, and the way she’s building this blog and promoting it, this blog is bound to be a highly visible piece of real estate soon. So how valuable do you think that review of The Battledome is going to be? A lot more valuable than a few bookmarks on some obscure social bookmarking site that’s for sure! And look – she has nary a keyword in site! Imagine that!
